PLEASE DISCUSS THE FOLLOWING WITH YOUR PARENTS

The Rod Hamm Memorial Tournament is dedicated to the memory of Rod Hamm. Rod was born on July 18, 1970, and tragically killed in an auto accident on October 16, 1988. He played Novice and Atom hockey with the Massey Place Community Association, and then went on to Pee Wee and Bantam with the Saskatoon Zone A Knights. Rod is remembered for his dedication to the game, and his high standards of fair play while participating in hockey.

The Zone A Knights established a Scholarship Fund with the proceeds from these tournaments. From these funds, we help to further the education of recipients from the new “Aces” Zone (formerly the Knights). We are very proud to say that this year will mark the 19th Annual Rod Hamm Memorial Tournaments.

The tournament committee is well aware of the sacrifices endured by coaches and parents so that our youth may take part in these events. Because many of the teams attending these tournaments come from all over Saskatchewan and neighboring provinces, the additional costs for meals, lodging and travel can be a great burden. We hope that by providing you with as much information as possible, as far ahead as possible, that your organization will be able to plan for this event in such a way as to alleviate any last minute extra costs.

Our Rod Hamm Memorial Tournaments are operated on a volunteer basis. All volunteers are assisting with the Tournament Operations and must do so to enable their sons, daughters or sibling to be eligible for scholarship funds.

We would like to inform you that the Rod Hamm Tournament Committee has alleviated the door charge which were implemented at previous tournaments. We Thank you in advance for your support of our raffle draws and 50/50 sales throughout the tournament.

On behalf of everyone in the Aces Zone we want to thank you for your interest in this tournament. We hope that you will choose to attend this very exciting and competitive, year-end event. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any further information you may require.

Sincerely, Colette ,Wendy and Jim
